North County Center for Change is the case management and treatment provider for San Diego’s North County Division Adult Drug Court. We work collaboratively with other members of the Drug Court Team, who include the Judge, court support staff, District Attorney, Public Defender, and law enforcement liaison officers. As the treatment provider on the Drug Court Team, North County Center for Change helps our clients achieve success in living a productive life that is free of criminal activity. Our treatment services offer group and individual counseling, and our case management services provide for mental health, education, employment and community referral needs.

Program Services

The Drug Court program includes completion of a minimum of 12 months of intensive drug abuse treatment and testing services, followed by six months of aftercare support services, which North County Center for Change provides. Our services include:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Case management
  • Regular, random urinalysis drug testing
  • Placement in detox, residential treatment, sober living and mental health programs when appropriate (and available)
  • Job training, employment assistance, and education
  • Community referrals as needed

Eligibility Requirements

We serve individuals who have a substance abuse issue in conjunction with criminal charges, who the courts believe would benefit from our structured treatment program. San Diego Superior Court Adult Drug Courts exclude individuals charged with violent offenses, sex crimes and manufacturing illegal substances, as well as other serious offenses.

At North County Center for Change we recognize that many people have individual needs, which may include coping with co-occurring disorders. Our services are aimed at meeting the treatment needs of all those referred to our program through the court.

Referrals

All our referrals come from the San Diego’s North County Division Adult Drug Court. A defendant may be screened to determine if he or she is appropriate for Drug Court. If deemed eligible to receive drug court services, the judge can make a decision to allow the defendant to enter the program.
