Our Fresno First CalWORKs program offers gender responsive treatment and recovery services dedicated to helping women through the challenges of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health issues. We serve women who are involved with the Fresno County Department of Social Services (CPS) or CalWORKs recipients in need of residential treatment services.

Program Services

Our gender specific treatment and recovery services include:

  • Screening and assessment
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Comprehensive case management
  • Care coordination
  • Aftercare/discharge planning

Specialty groups and services are available for:

  • Grief and loss
  • Self-esteem
  • Overcoming trauma
  • Parenting
  • Reunification
  • Anger management
  • Domestic violence
  • Life planning
  • Women’s issues
  • Drug and alcohol education

Eligibility Requirements

We serve women who are involved with the Fresno County Department of Social Services (CPS) or CalWORKs recipients in treatment and recovery who need residential services. While participating in residential services, a woman can have up to two minor children living with her. Typically, these children are under the age of twelve.

Referrals

Fresno First CalWORKs clients are referred by the Fresno County Department of Social Services (CPS) and the Reach Team at the Fresno County Welfare Department (CalWORKs).
