The Casa Aurora program is a Custody to Community Transitional Reentry Program (CCTRP) in a stand-alone facility that provides housing, sustenance, and gender-responsive programming to participants who have a minimum of 45 days and a maximum of 2 years remaining on their sentence. MHS’ Casa Aurora program participants include adult females who have been approved for participation in the Enhanced Alternative Custody Program (EACP). MHS provides treatment and programming that will address criminogenic factors associated with the woman’s sentencing, including substance abuse treatment services; however, other criminogenic factors are addressed since substance abuse is not a requirement for admittance into the program. MHS Casa Aurora provides the treatment programming for all participants while they remain under the legal custody of CDCR.
