Volunteers are important members of our Mental Health Systems team. We have volunteers who contribute thousands of hours annually, serving in a wide variety of positions throughout all our programs.  The success of MHS programs and our ability to improve the lives of those we serve can be attributed in part to the generosity and dedication of our volunteers, alumni and interns. Please consider giving back to your community by donating your time to an MHS program today.  

Our volunteer positions provide individuals with the opportunity for community involvement and an enriched sense of purpose in their lives. Opportunities include coordinating events, resource development, customer service, general office support, fundraising and giving campaigns, information technology, research, and work on special projects.

Internships
Internships are available for those seeking direct clinical experience related to alcohol and drug and mental health services in a variety of settings. Whether you are working towards an alcohol and drug credential or a degree in mental health, rehabilitative health, behavioral health or a related field, the selection of an internship site is an important part of your education and application of your academic learning. The site where you complete your internship should take into account your desired learning experiences, the skills you wish to acquire, and the populations you wish to serve. MHS offers comprehensive internship opportunities in a supportive setting, allowing you to obtain invaluable hands-on experience and training in behavioral health.

MHS accepts applications from prospective interns throughout the year. All internship candidates must successfully complete a series of pre-screening requirements including a background check.
