The Mission of the William R. Mead Training Academy (WRM-TA) is to promote and provide quality education to persons working in or entering the field of alcohol and other drug treatment and integrated services

We provide training in addiction counseling that meets the state Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (DADP) requirements for certification in drug and alcohol counseling. Our program follows the Tap 21 Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes of Professional Counselors curriculum. WRM-TA is ideal for anyone in the helping profession seeking additional skills needed to enhance their careers or to become certified in addiction counseling.

Students who successfully complete a course study may be eligible for and/or may apply for certification with certifying agencies in CA depending upon the certifying agency requirements. WRM-TA is a Comprehensive CAADAC Program. It is also accepted by CAARR.
