Our objective is to provide innovative and effective treatment and recovery services for clients who number over 3,000 per day, including men, women, adolescents and their families. The devastating impact of substance and alcohol abuse has far-reaching consequences for individuals, families and the community. MHS offers outstanding levels of residential and non-residential service in California, including six regional recovery centers, three women’s programs, two family treatment programs and supplementary support for sober-living homes.

MHS provides a wide array of substance-abuse treatment services and makes effective use of its network of services through referrals, placements, case management for CalWORKs, welfare, dependency court, Proposition 36 clients and parolees. Our community-based coalitions advance social, environmental and policy-focused prevention strategies to prevent, reduce and slow the growth of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.

In 2003, MHS continued to expand services at its existing programs and opened a new regional recovery center in Fontana, California. We are scheduled to open two primary substance abuse prevention programs in San Bernardino County, one in Barstow and one in Colton, California. The Alcohol and Drug Services Division is dedicated to providing education, prevention and treatment, in a cost-effective manner. The implementation of current and time-proven treatment models, combined with MHS’ Values and Standards of Excellence, has ensured quality service programs for individuals and families throughout Central and Southern California for over 25 years.
