The Fresno Hacienda Blog is Open!
What is happening in the Hacienda?
THE VISION
Our vision is to take the Hacienda, formerly an abandoned property, redevelop it, and turn it into a jewel of which all of Fresno can be proud. Our project will help with housing needs, bring jobs to the community, and help women from the Fresno area to successfully reintegrate into their community. In keeping with our efforts to promote positive change and benefit the communities we serve, we will also develop a training academy on site, open to the public and devoted to training those who desire to become certified substance abuse counselors or prevention specialists.
Our experience shows that we are capable of accomplishing our vision. Mental Health Systems, founded in 1978, has operated several successful programs in Fresno for eight years. These now include the Fresno Center for Change (Drug Court), the Floyd Farrow Substance Abuse Unit in Juvenile Hall, Fresno Family/Youth Alternative Program, and Fresno First which includes a Female Offender Treatment and Employment Program (FOTEP), and Drug Treatment Furlough (DTF) program.
