Chronic disease to cost $47 trillion by 2030, World Economic Forum (September 18, 2011)

The global economic impact of the five leading chronic diseases -- cancer, diabetes, mental illness, heart disease, and respiratory disease -- could reach $47 trillion over the next 20 years.

California passes legislation: behavioral health integrated with physical health

(September 2011) – California has passed legislation that will help prepare the State to have behavioral health integrated with physical health. The legislation lays the groundwork for a federal mandate that is part of Healthcare Reform and requires this integration be in place by 2014.
