The 2nd Annual Laugh for Recovery Helped Raise Funds to Meet the Needs of Many Clients

We’re pleased to announce that the money raised by the Laugh for Recovery was able to provide for grants to 16 MHS programs! After carefully reviewing all the Grant Applications, the following programs were selected for awards: BPSR – Vista, Escondido Clubhouse, New Heights TAY, South County Center for Change, North Coastal Mental Health Center, Mariposa Clubhouse, Central Valley Regional Recovery Center, Helping Hands, Caring Helpers, STEPS Day Treatment, North County Center for Change, North Inland Mental Health Center, Hemet Center for Change, BPSR Kinesis North, Harmony West, Riverside Center for Change.

The funds received by the programs will go to great use, meeting a multitude of needs that include: establishing a women’s group and a Quit Smoking club for clients; providing clients with personal safety training, transportation to the Youth Summit, and stipends for Caring Helpers’ graduates who go into the community and provide trainings; purchasing curriculum workbooks and DVDs, journals for clients, bus passes, therapy games, books, toys, a TV for a drop in center, personal hygiene items, clothing for interviews, area rugs for a childcare center, and emergency clothing for children who have an accident and need a change of clothes.
