2009 CADA Public Policy Conference – speakers focus on health
The exciting round-up of speakers for the 2009 CADA Public
Policy Conference continues with the confirmation of another
four speakers. Among the issues for this year’s conference,
health care reform has reached into many areas of the substance
abuse treatment field. The four latest speakers added
to a stellar line-up include Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-Contra
Costa County), Burt McChesney of the California Association
of Veterans’ Services Agencies,

SAN MARCOS - The City Council will be asked to decide Tuesday whether local bartenders, waiters and clerks in convenience, liquor and grocery stores should attend classes on how to be responsible alcoholic beverage servers. The proposed ordinance would make the training mandatory. The city's Student and Neighborhood Relations Commission spent several months drafting the ordinance, and the city held a workshop in January for owners and managers of San Marcos restaurants, bars and stores who wanted to discuss the idea. Most of the people at the workshop expressed support for the ordinance.
