COD- Level 1 for AOD counselors and Mental Health Clinicians

 Workshop Summary:

This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to discuss definitions, terminology, and historical differences in addiction and mental health treatment and how these can impact screening, assessment and coordination of care.  Attendees will review the MHS Ten Core Competencies, identify the principles of integrated care, and discuss how to putto apply  them into practice.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

• Identify and describe Review definitions and, terminology related to co-occurring disorders
• Explore biases in with-in each system
• Discuss Identify challenges and barriers to screening & assessment with this population
• Review Identify and desctibe best practices in integrated care
• Review Idnetofy and desribe treatment modalities and options for care in each system
• Discuss Explore strategies and practical considerations when working with the addiction and mental health field.
