COD- Level 1 for AOD counselors and Mental Health Clinicians
Workshop Summary:
This workshop will provide staff the opportunity to discuss definitions, terminology, and historical differences in addiction and mental health treatment and how these can impact screening, assessment and coordination of care. Attendees will review the MHS Ten Core Competencies, identify the principles of integrated care, and discuss how to put them into practice.

- Review definitions, terminology
- Explore biases in each system
- Discuss challenges and barriers to screening & assessment
- Review best practices in integrated care
- Review treatment modalities and options for care in each system
- Discuss strategies and practical considerations
