Training Overview

This course will provide an overview of specific systems' services and how they function independently and together to offer services to meet the needs of individuals dually served and dually diagnosed (MI/DD).  New projects and policies at all levels (local, state and nationwide) will be discussed to inform the student of cuttng edge approaches to implementing cross systems service delivery using specific strategies in collaboration.  The course will focus on local demonstration projects that enhance quality of life and community stabilization for individual with dual diagnosis.

Training Objectives

  • Attendees will identify the types of services provided by the Regional Center system inlcuding criteria for eligibility and exclusions.
  • Attendees will identify the types of services provided by the County Mental Health system including criteria for eligibility and exclusions.
  • Attendees will learn about local resources provdided to persons who are eligible for both Regional Center and Mental Health Services.
  • Attendees will learn about innovative projects and emerging best practice when an individual is served by multiple systems.

Target Audience

Administrators, other professionals charged with selection of services, resources development, systems budgets and community wide collaboration.
