Training Overview   

This 2.5 hour workshop will provide an introduction and overview of service needs for persons with dual diagnoses (DD/MI) with a specific focus on adults. Attendees will discuss the complex nature of dual diagnoses, specialty services needs for this population and practical tools and strategies to assist dually served adults in maximizing their independence in their local communities. 

Training Objectives     

 Participants will:
• Discuss strategies for effective service delivery to adults with co-occurring mental illness and developmental disabilities.
• Identify effective behavioral interventions for these persons with complex needs.
• Describe strategies for maximizing independence.

Mental Health Professionals and Regional Center Board and Care Providers
