Workshop Summary:
Open only to COD certification pilot programs with special invite.
This training is ONLYopen to staff from the following COD certification pilot programs: Family Recovery Center, Cal Works AOD, EC Center for Change, NC Center for Change, SC Center for Change, SASCA, PPL, Case Management North, Families Forward, Building Bridges Together, ACT-Central, ACT North, Cal Works Oceanside, Cal Works South Bay. IF YOU ARE NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF ANY OF THE PROGRAMS ABOVE, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER THANK YOU.
This workshop will provide staff the opportunity to discuss definitions, terminology, and historical differences in addiction and mental health treatment and how these can impact screening, assessment and coordination of care. Attendees will review the MHS Ten Core Competencies, identify the principles of integrated care, and discuss how to put them into practice.
Learning Objectives:
- Review definitions, terminology
- Explore biases in each system
- Discuss challenges and barriers to screening & assessment
- Review best practices in integrated care
- Review treatment modalities and options for care in each system
- Discuss strategies and practical considerations
